The Beginning!

So nerves are running high now that my trip to Ecuador is only 4 DAYS AWAY!!!! I've got almost everything in order to leave. I'm waiting for my mom to get in on Sunday to do the last finishing touches of shopping and packing. Hopefully she wont have too much jetlag cause I'm putting her to work!
Yesterday was my last day of work and man was it tough! I didn't think it would be so difficult to leave it behind for three months. But I sobbed.
So I'm dreading my last meeting at Mason on Sunday. If I sobbed for leaving work behind, I'm gonna be completely inconsolable on Sunday. But I'll be back friends ;) Even if I am going to be going to a different hall. I'll still be around to see ya.
I'm so stinkin' excited about getting to Ecuador!! I've been reading blogs of people who have done it and decided that I should give blogging a go too. It's helped me a lot with nerves. The brutal honesty of peoples failures but the ever encouraging way that Jehovah looks out for those who are trying their best to serve him helps tremendously. So hopefully this blog will be a help to someone out there that is interested in trying out a new country.

Here are some facts that will make this trip to Ecuador more lively:
1. I don't know Spanish. I can say basic greetings but getting around is going to be interesting to say the least.
2. I have never travelled to a foreign country before. I am Canadian. But everyone knows that Canada and the USA are basically the same except that Canadian are slightly cooler ;) jk.
3. I am a very paranoid/nervous/worrying kind of person if there is no one else around to do all the freaking out for me.
4. And last, but most importantly,... I am absolutely deathly afraid of spiders. And now that I've done more research about Ecuador, Scorpions as well. So this should make this trip to serve where the need is greater super fun! hahaha

I don't know how often I will have internet where I am going. So I don't know how often I will be able to keep in touch with everyone. I do know that I will have it the first day I get there. And there is a sister that has internet in her apartment that's only 10 minutes away from us. So I'll probably be going to see her frequently and keep everyone updated then.
I have to run to the bank and call mi madre. The next post on here will be from Ecuador!!!! Can't wait to post then with my crazy stories of going through customs, eek!
 Adios mi amigos!
